A month or so ago one of my favorite authors, Liza Palmer, announced on her blog that she's giving away the british version of her book and a writing mix music cd she put together. I was one of her lucky readers that got the book and cd. The first and best song in the writing mix cd is Colin Hay's "Waiting for my real life to begin" (I like this song so much I'm adding the lyrics below). I swear this was the only song I listened to for 2 days straight. I googled his name and discovered he is the lead singer of the band Men at Work ("Who can it be now?, Down Under, Overkill). These days he is now a solo artist. What's funny is that I discovered that I already had a song of his on my ipod called I just don't think I'll get over you, from the Garden State soundtrack.
