After so many years living and working close to the north gate of Mt. Diablo state park, I finally drove up Mt. Diablo last Saturday afternoon. I knew it would be hazy but if it weren't you can supposedly see the Farallon Islands from the summit. I could barely see the GG bridge looking westward.
Great views of the valley on both sides. I won't be going back up anytime soon unless I know the weather is clear. The entrance fee is $10 and the drive is too long and windy. You can only go 15-20 miles an hour. It's a good thing I didn't get car sick.
I should come up with a bucket list of things to do in the Bay Area. So here's#1...Mt. Diablo is officially checked off.
